CANCER FITNESS PROGRAM
Introduced in 2014, the Cancer Fitness Program is currently a collaborative effort between EOS Fitness and North County Cancer Fitness dedicated to improving the lives of cancer survivors within our community. We believe fitness is essential to cancer treatment, recovery and survivorship.
Coping with cancer and related treatment brings an array of challenging physical issues. Whether these issues are temporary or long term, they need to be addressed when considering a fitness program. Exercise increases the body’s ability to heal, encourages healthier lifestyles and helps reduce the risk of recurrence.
The Cancer Fitness Program offers an oncologist approved, professionally developed program that is cancer-specific and safe. Consisting of weekly group exercise classes and one-on-one personal training our program is open to all cancer survivors as well as their caregivers.
The Cancer Fitness Program focuses on the following components:
• strength training
• resistance training
• cardiovascular training
These are essential elements in maintaining and building muscle mass; strengthening bones; heart health, increasing range of motion and combating fatigue.
The Cancer Fitness Program group classes are offered at no cost. Individual personal training is fee based and Fitness Evolution membership is required.
